What you'll be doing here
  • This PhD position is part of 19 openings within the MSCA Industrial Doctoral Network on Digital Finance, providing a European-wide doctorate in Digital Finance, with leading institutions such as the European Central Bank.
  • You will work on exciting research and innovation projects focused on data science, AI and ML applications in finance together with industry and academic expects from Switzerland and abroad.
  • You will have access to a specialized training program on Digital Finance created at the European level from a consortium of leading industry and academic experts.
  • You will work on industry-relevant topics on Machine Learning in Finance. Topics are subject to change.
  • You will spend at least 18 months in industry, with expected placements at the European Central Bank and the Bank for International Settlements. Your PhD-awarding university will be the University of Twente.
What you'll bring with you
  • Master's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, Computational Science or related fields
  • A strong passion and outstanding skills in data science and experience working with programming languages and statistical software such as Python, R, C++
  • Knowledge on quantitative modelling of financial markets, econometric techniques, machine learning or quantitative empirical research methods
  • The ability to work on real-world problems in an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented environment
  • Good communication skills and an excellent command of English
