What you'll be doing here
  • With your knowledge and expertise you will strengthen the team International Agriculture and HAFL
  • In an interdisciplinary team, you will develop and collaborate in projects of applied research and participate in respective teaching at Bachelor and Master Levels
  • You will also supervise thesis work
  • This position could offer you the opportunity of future promotion to a professorship
  • You will work in a multi-lingual environment (English, French and German).
What you'll bring with you
  • A PhD in agricultural sciences or related disciplines and working experience in cropping systems in Latin America or Asia
  • Good knowledge of tropical crops and their production systems, especially for legumes, rice and vegetables
  • Experience and strong interest in teaching and in collaborating in Applied Research for Development (AR4D) Projects
  • Experience in participatory approaches and the use of modern tools (e.g. e-extension, crop modelling, precision farming) will be an Advantage
  • Strong links with both international and Swiss agricultural research and development institutions, Willingness to travel abroad for short-term missions, Spanish as an asset
