What you'll be doing here
  • Participate in a national research project to promote biodiversity in protective forests
  • Model the protective effect of forests against landslides and rockfall, including the influence of deadwood
  • Derive indicators of the protective effect
  • Analyse relationships between the protective effect and forest structures
  • Write scientific reports and publications
What you'll bring with you
  • MSc in Environmental Sciences, Forest Sciences, Geography
  • PhD an advantage
  • Experience in modelling landslide and/or rockfall processes and the protective effect of forests
  • Knowledge of natural hazard processes, in particular rockfall and landslides as well as protective forest management
  • Experience in the use of GIS as well as Python or R
  • Confidence in mountain terrain and experience in field surveys an advantage
  • Native German or French speaker with good knowledge of the other language; good knowledge of English
