What you'll be doing here
  • in close collaboration with the head of the research group, identify new research topics, further develop their profiles and translate them into competitive third-party-funded projects;
  • initiate research, development and service projects, and play a key role in preparing funding proposals;
  • actively drive the acquisition of external funding and the development of future project financing;
  • following successful funding decisions, coordinate the scientific and operational implementation of projects;
  • contribute to practice-oriented teaching at bachelor's and master's level in the fields of forest engineering and work science;
  • supervise bachelor's and master's theses;
  • prepare scientific publications, project reports and presentations for academic and practice-oriented audiences;
  • build and maintain sustainable collaborations with industry partners, public authorities and research institutions.
What you'll bring with you
  • a completed master's degree (MSc) or PhD in forestry, forest engineering or a closely related discipline with a clear focus on forest engineering and work science
  • Sound knowledge of forest engineering, forest operations, forest access or production planning, as well as ergonomics in forestry work processes
  • Experience in contributing to scientific projects and developing funding proposals; motivation to co-develop third-party-funded projects independently in the medium term
  • Strong initiative, perseverance and a structured working style
  • Excellent communication skills and an interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Interest in teaching and supervising students
  • Very good English skills; willingness to learn German. The university actively supports language acquisition. Teaching is expected to be conducted in German in the medium term
