To start with, here are some of our strong points
  • Great freedom in work organisation with lots of leeway for your ideas, your creativity and decisiveness.
  • ,
  • When looking for solutions, it helps to be curious and to think truly outside the box.
  • ,
  • Focus on research that is geared towards practical orientation and the education of committed people rather than mere profit maximisation.
  • ,
  • Working with smart people of different professional backgrounds who want, like you, to do things and make a difference.
  • ,
  • Plenty of contact with people from all over Switzerland and the world at large.
And here are even more good reasons to opt for BFH
What you'll be doing here
  • Participating in the SNSF project "Health & Ageing at Work (HAWK): A Study of Menopause in Switzerland", jointly led by Prof. Dr. Isabelle Zinn (BFH) and Prof. Dr. Nicky Le Feuvre (UNIL). The postdocs will collaborate on all stages of the project, focusing on aging at work from a gender perspective:
  • Project management and coordination
  • Collection and analysis of original empirical data (quantitative and/or qualitative)
  • Coordination and conducting of qualitative interviews in German and French
  • Dissemination of results (conference participation, etc.) and writing and publishing scientific papers
*The auditions will take place via teams on March 18th and 19th
What you'll bring with you
  • PhD in Social Sciences. Specialization in the sociology of work and gender, and/or in the life course is essential. An interest in issues related to (gendered) aging at work would be an asset.
  • Candidates must be proficient in quantitative (online questionnaire survey) and/or qualitative (biographical interviews and ethnographic observations) social science methods.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills.
  • Excellent command of one national language (German/French) and proficiency in English are essential. Mastery/comprehension of a second national language would be an asset and is highly appreciated.
